This book is one of my recent favorites because it is so new and fresh. A baby disappears but it becomes a very different story from the ones we’ve heard before. All of the characters are a bit unusual and the action moves in unexpected directions.
The wilderness and an appreciation and closeness to nature brings its own beauty to this story. Descriptions are so vivid they make you feel as if you are living in the wild. Back-stories are relative and sprinkled in lightly as we move through the present so they don’t slow the action. Despite the length, I found myself pushing to read just one page before sleep and zipping through this book to learn what happens next.
The interesting mix of characters locked into their different beliefs playing off one another make it a good read. Well done!
Enjoy but get your tissues close.
